Hi Alex, Thank you for your reply. There have 2 M.2 slot. One for default storage 512GB. We will use another M.2 slot to add 4GB storage. Now we're considering 2 Transcend...
I was wondering if anyone's had any success using the BMC's SOL feature? If I run `ipmitool -I lanplus -U admin -P admin -H <ip_address> sol activate` I don't get any output when I power on ...
FWIW I've reprogrammed edk2 2.06 on the carrier board's SPI and moved JP27 to 2-3 so that I can now boot 2.06 by default. The board boots faster than with 2.09 (i.e. about less than one minut...
I timed this. When power is applied for some time to the carrier, meaning BMC has booted, and than boot up the time to the ESC to UEFI menu is around 43 sec. If I do a power disconnect...
Hi Gray, We tested WD SN850 500GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. We also tested Micron 7450 PRO U.3 3840GB but it needs an adapter card and cable. can you specify the form factor you are looking for ?&...
What form factor are you thinking of? I have a 6.4TB NVMe PCIe AIC that I'm successfully using.
A question of nvme for Ampere platform What's the maximum nvme capacity supported by the Ampere platform? We plan to add large nvme(4TB) for ampere use. Not sure it could be supported or not? Plea...
@Willy Tarreau I have an idea about your slow boot issue. There's basically a race condition between the BMC and UEFI: UEFI wants to use SSIF to read information about the BMC, but it requires that...
@Willy Tarreau It would be nice if there was an official build with more verbose logging enabled (DEBUG_INFO at least).
@Rebecca Cran Thank you Rebecca. I may give it a try next week. For now I've left the legacy version on the module with MMC 2.09 that checks JP27, and EDK2 2.09 on the carrier board. It boot super ...
@Willy Tarreau If you go down the page far enough, there's a release from July 2022, v2.06.100.00: "Update CRB code to V2.06.100-ampere."
Where did you find 2.06 ? I'm only seeing 2.04 on github and 2.09 on the download page.
@Willy Tarreau Hi I forget to tell you that after trying many times of different version of EDK2, I figured out that geerlingguy may be using the version of 2.06. Currently I'm using the 2.06 edk n...
So as indicated in the 2.3 GHz thread, finally after another reboot the machine is again at 2.3 GHz instead of 2.6 once reverted to EDK2 2.04.100.11. So there's clearly a difference between 2.04 an...
Well, after reverting to EDK2 2.04.100.11, finally the system is back to 2.3 GHz... Grrrr... I think I will flash 2.09 on the carrier board so that I can boot on it using JP27.
FWIW the repository is back online with updates, and the new image in the download area managed to boot and restore my machine.
Just for info, the firmware based on MMC 2.09 + EDK2 2.04.100.11 that is available in the download area now properly respects JP27 and allows to boot from the onboard flash. I reprogrammed mine and...
Just to inform other users that after the last update in the download area with MMC 2.09 and EDK2 2.04.100.11, I managed to flash the SPI NOR on the carrier board using an external programmer, and ...
@Ruler of COM great news, I could flash the on-board SPI using my buspirate board + flashrom and moving JP27 to 2-3. Now the board boots again (and boot quite faster than it previously did). The m...
